Copper-Toned Blossoms with a Warm Cinnamon-Spiced Scent
A fresh Catasetinae hybrid coming off our Kurtistown benches, bred to pack thick, waxy flowers onto short, plump pseudobulbs.
The blooms open in burnished copper and deep russet-red, framed by warm amber undertones and finished with a glossy mahogany lip. Each flower sports a dramatic, sweeping column that curves forward over the lip, giving the bloom the unmistakable silhouette of a tiny, high-necked swan.
Cycnoches have a dramatic seasonal routine that makes them pure fun to keep around. They spend spring and summer eating like pigs and putting on growth at a furious clip, then drop every single leaf in winter for a deep, bone-dry rest. That complete winter dormancy gives you a mandatory holiday from watering for a few months—a gift your house sitters will genuinely appreciate. When this cross flowers, the waxy blossoms fill the bench with a rich, cinnamon-spiced fragrance that holds strong for weeks. It delivers maximum color and fragrance while taking up a tiny footprint in your collection.
