A Swan-Necked Heavyweight with Dark Mahogany and Leopard Spots
A fresh Catasetinae cross bringing together two rich, glossy powerhouses from our benches. It produces arching spikes crowded with thick, shell-like blooms that look as if they were freshly dipped in high-gloss varnish.
Each flower features swept-back petals in deep mahogany and burnt bronze, opening to reveal a sculpted copper lip dusted with intricate dark spotting. The arching column gives every blossom the distinct profile of a swan gliding across dark water.
The show hits its peak around midday when the flowers release a warm, heavy fragrance of allspice and dark chocolate that easily fills a room. While many large-flowered orchids demand expansive bench space, these slender pseudobulbs grow tall and straight, keeping a very light footprint. They drop their leaves for a complete winter nap, allowing you to tuck them away on a dry back shelf for a few months while they rest, making them one of the most space-efficient specimen plants you can grow.
