If you are looking for an orchid that packs a massive punch of color in a compact frame, Dendrobium Hibiki is a true showstopper. This unique hybrid (a cross between Den. laevifolium and Den. bracteosum) is beloved for its incredible flower density and its ability to bloom for months on end.

The plant features sturdy, upright canes with deep green foliage that often takes on a reddish-purple tint when grown in bright light. The star-shaped blossoms emerge in tight, rounded clusters, sporting a striking bicolor contrast of rich raspberry-pink petals and bright tangerine-orange lips.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Everlasting Blooms: This orchid is a marathon bloomer. Individual flowers are incredibly waxy and long-lived, often remaining fresh for 3 to 5 months.

  • Compact Powerhouse: Its miniature-to-medium stature makes it perfect for windowsills, desks, or small terrariums without sacrificing the "wow" factor.

  • Frequent Rebloomer: Mature plants are prolific, often blooming multiple times a year from both old and new canes.

  • Exotic Color Palette: The neon-like contrast of pink and orange is rare in the orchid world and creates a stunning focal point in any collection.

Quick Care Guide:

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. It thrives in an east or west-facing window. A slight reddish tint on the leaves is a sign it is receiving the perfect amount of light.

  • Water: Keep the plant evenly moist. Unlike some orchids, Den. Hibiki does not like to stay dry for long periods. Water just as the top of the media begins to feel dry.

  • Temperature: Prefers intermediate to warm conditions, ideally between 65°F and 85°F.

  • Humidity: Thrives in higher humidity (50% or higher). Placing it on a humidity tray or near a humidifier will keep the foliage lush and the blooms vibrant.

  • Fertilizer: Use a balanced orchid fertilizer at half-strength every two weeks during the active growing season.
