A Sweet-Scented Miniature That Fills a Room

A classic Oncidium hybrid that delivers a massive cloud of tiny flowers on a plant that barely takes up any space on a window sill.

The blooms open in shades of soft pink and white with a bright yellow center on tight, multi-branching spikes. Each small flower features flaring side lobes that give the whole spike the look of a tiny flock of pink butterflies suspended over the foliage.

The main reason to grow this hybrid is the incredible strength of its scent compared to its tiny footprint. One mature plant in bloom produces a rich vanilla and warm honey fragrance that easily fills a room by mid-morning. It produces multiple spikes per pseudobulb once established, grows vigorously, and asks for very little room to do its work. It is easily one of the most rewarding small space orchids on the bench.

Quick Care Guide

• Light: High indirect light, such as a bright east or west window, maintaining lime-green leaves.

• Water: Water thoroughly as the top layer of media dries; avoid letting pseudobulbs shrivel completely.

• Temperature: Nights 58–65°F, days 70–86°F.

• Fertilizer: Balanced orchid fertilizer at half strength every two weeks during spring and summer.

• Mature size: Foliage reaches 4 to 8 inches tall, with flower spikes extending 6 to 10 inches.
