Grand Flowers with a Regal Lip Accent
A classic hybrid line from our breeding houses that captures the drama of an exhibition Cattleya in a clean, dependable plant. It grows with vigor and sets clear blooms without demanding a specialized setup.
Each flower opens five inches wide in soft, crisp tones, centered by a rich ruby-purple lip that opens wide to reveal a bright golden throat. The heavy, velvety petals spread flat and hold their posture for weeks, sitting on the spike like a crown.
The sweet floral scent wakes up by mid-morning and fills a room, disappearing right around dusk. You get big exhibition form on a compact frame that sits happily on a bright windowsill without crowding out your other pots. It builds plump, upright pseudobulbs that flower reliably every season on sturdy, self-supporting stems.
Quick Care Guide
-
Light: Bright, filtered light. An east or west window with sheer protection to keep foliage a light apple green.
-
Water: Soak thoroughly, then allow the potting media to dry out nearly completely before watering again.
-
Temperature: Nights 58–65°F, days 70–86°F. A slight night drop encourages strong flower spikes.
-
Fertilizer: Feed weekly at quarter-strength with a balanced orchid fertilizer during active spring growth.
-
Mature size: Upright growths reach 10 to 14 inches tall, holding flower spikes just above the leaves.
